CPE CREDITS

Although we are not affiliated with isc2.org or isaca.org there are ways to get Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits based on the sessions you attend at our conference.

Current information is that the CISO Speaker Sessions, Expert Panels and Roundtable together total 3 hour and 15 minutes each day, subject to confirmation by the respective professional governing bodies.

Securing CPE credits typically requires self-reporting and demonstrating relevance to your profession.

Here’s a breakdown of the process:

  1. Verify eligibility and requirements
  • Review your certification’s CPE Handbook: Each certifying body (like ISC2, ISACA, or CompTIA) has specific guidelines on what activities qualify for CPE credits and how they should be submitted.
  • Identify the type of credit: Determine whether the conference content aligns with “Group A” (directly domain-related) or “Group B” (enhancing overall professional skills) requirements for your specific certification.
  1. Document your participation and learning
  • Obtain a Certificate of Attendance: Many conferences provide these, which will be essential for documentation.
  • Track attendance for individual sessions: Record the duration of each session you attend, as 1 hour of participation often equates to 1 CPE credit.
  • Keep supporting materials: Retain copies of the conference agenda, presentation slides, and any other relevant materials that demonstrate the content and your engagement.
  1. Self-report your CPE credits
  • Log in to your certification body’s online portal: Most have a dedicated section for managing and reporting CPEs.
  • Provide detailed information about the conference: Include the conference title, dates, and sponsoring organization, along with a description of the topics covered and how they relate to your cybersecurity profession.
  • Upload your documentation: Attach your Certificate of Attendance and any other supporting materials as required.
  1. Demonstrate relevance (especially for non-obvious alignment)
  • Craft a detailed description: When reporting the CPE, clearly explain how the conference topics relate to your cybersecurity domains or enhance your professional skills.
  • Highlight specific sessions or presentations: Focus on how the information gained is valuable for your current or desired cybersecurity role.
  • Connect it to the certification domains: Articulate how the knowledge acquired at the conference strengthens your capabilities within the relevant areas tested by your certification.

Verify with your certifying body: It’s always best to check with your specific certification body or refer to their official guidelines for the most accurate and up-to-date information on acceptable CPE activities and reporting procedures.

By following these steps, you can effectively claim CPE credits for attending unaffiliated cybersecurity conferences and continue demonstrating your commitment to professional development.
